  Running a good press release is not as easy as it might sound… Here’s our troubled experience with The Tsar's Secret! Press releases are a good ally when trying to get our game out there. We wanted to have it highlighted to thousands of readers, of course, but also to appear on Google! Sometimes, when I overhear an indie title, it’s hard to find any website or even the Twitter account when googling it. I didn’t want this to happen with The Tsar’s Secret, so… having a bunch of journalists, bloggers, or influencers talking about it sounded like a nice solution. To succeed (or at least try to) on your press release campaign, these were the steps we followed: 1. • The music in The Tsar's Secret - 10 August 2022

  We truly put a lot of effort and time into it. Music is one of the pillars of The Tsar's Secret since Tenebris focuses on the sounds for creating the visual design. In The Tsar's Secret, you are an occultist mage that can use two spells: Tenebris & Silentium. The idea is that by using Tenebris, you kind of 'erase' light from the world, so your enemies will be blind, but you will also. On the other side, Silentium will switch off sounds from reality, so you and your enemies won't be able to hear clearly. As you might notice when playing, Silentium does not wholly mute the game. You can still hear the music and SFX, but as if you were hearing it from inside a soundproof bubble. We made this decision because making a whole mode without any music is quite challenging.   Hi everyone! We just uploaded a new version of the game fixing some minor bugs we found. To let you know, players reported that the game crashes with a "fatal error" sometimes. We are still looking for this bug and trying to find a way to fix it. If this happens to you, try to close the game and open it again. That should do the trick. — PATCH NOTES — - Fixed a bug that made enemies from lvl 2 disappear. - Edited a typo in the intro. Thanks everyone for playing, and keep sending us comments.   Hi everyone! Today we want to talk about the character creation process. In the beginning, creating the mechanics and ensuring the fun was our main focus. Things such as narrative, characters, or historical setting were put on hold. In fact, it's mainly the Art department that took care of these topics. The first decision made was about the general artistic direction of the game. We kind of decided it together, but the Art department had more influence on the topic. After, we started creating the main chatacter. There were some fixed concepts that Design needed to have, such as the use of occultist powers, the name of the main character, and his clothing style - influenced by the artistic direction of the game itself - but the rest came from our favourite doodling Concept Art team.   Hello! It’s already been 4 days since the big launch of our demo on Steam. Now that I’m writing about it, publishing a demo doesn’t sound like a big milestone. But for us, as a team, it means finally being able to show all the work that we’ve been doing for 8 months. DEVELOPER STUDIO We are Otter Worlds Games, an indie developer studio from Spain. We are scattered around the country and work remote, but sometimes we manage to meet in Madrid and have some fun together.
