  The game has changed greatly since the Next Fest Demo, so let's go over some of the highlights. Apocalypse Scaling We have overhauled how the rounds progress in this version. Instead of a having to kill a set number of enemies per round and a grace period in-between rounds, rounds will progress based on time regardless of how many are killed. We've referred to this internally as Apocalypse Mode. New Enemies We have new enemies to introduce! Skeleton The Skeleton is a more "tanky" and fast variant of the zombie. Bat This sneaky bat holds an explosive surprise as it flies. If the bat gets too close to the player, their dynamite stick will start to ignite until it explodes. Players must keep their distance from them and aim carefully. Rat The rat is much like the bat. However, the rat scurries across the floors. It is also faster than the bat.   With Next Fest upon us, here's what you'll find in the updated demo. Major Changes Upgrades (meta progression) Every round you survive grants you vouchers, a currency that persists through runs. Surviving later rounds grants greater amounts. You can use these vouchers to address areas where you may be struggling, be it mana, gold, health, or damage output. Promotions (run modifiers) After clearing round 10 for the first time, unlock affixes that increase a run's difficulty, but offer increased vouchers. Destructibles Find useful resources in destructible crates and barrels. A free gem when you triple Akin to mechanics seen in other games with a rerolling shop, combining three gems of the same type will grant you a free gem from one tier above your current shop level.   Changes When your run finishes, there is now a button to view your build afterward. Added a max framerate slider. Note, that if vsync is enabled, the max framerate slider will not do anything. Cost of the first door in the bottom floor of Caleme Cellars changed from 1000 to 500. Increased Earthquake's ticking damage. Raised the overall volume slightly. Lowered music volume while the game is paused. Camera will no longer rotate to your stab target if it is behind you. Fixed an issue with Shiny Rock. Shiny Rock was incorrectly doubling its sell price every time it was moved to a different slot. Fixed an issue involving gems with the pierce keyword. Gems with pierce were incorrectly piercing the first target hit, resulting in double damage. Subsequent pierces were also incorrectly dealing more damage than the initial hit.
