  Hello Everyone! It’s been a while! We hope you are doing well! Here is the update for the month: -Alternate skins? We’ve been experimenting with the idea.   Hello Everyone! We hope you had some nice holidays! We are back full of energy and ready to share what we’ve been making these past few weeks. Cheshire has been with us from the beginning, but now he has got a beautiful new sprite, shader, and animations! A while back we asked you all on X which dialogue bubbles you liked the most, so we’ve taken the result and this is how it turned out! Here is a sneak peek of Alice’s third eye ability, which will reveal secrets across the map. Use it if something looks suspicious! • Dev Diary #4 - 1 December 2023

  Hello Everyone! This month we have been hard at work with the Rose boss. We’ve made good progress with its logic and attacks and have polished its visuals to make it easily readable. Talking about visuals, we have added animation and vfx to the healing ability. We are drawing inspiration from alchemy to make these spells, so each one of them will have an alchemical symbol associated with them. That’s all for now. • Dev Diary #3 - 20 October 2023

  Hello everyone! This month, we have both continued to update more of Alice animations, and we have also worked on the scenery more specifically, the first boss room! It feels better to jump about now. What do you think? You can follow us on Twitter and tell us. We are always eager to listen to your feedback. As for the first boss. We have been working on the mood around it. Without getting into much detail, the boss is a mysterious entity in the shape of a rose, that will test your might against its guardian, a disembodied hand of thorns. Here is some concept art, and the current version in the game. We want to create a feel of uneasiness, so we’ve been working with rim lights and Unity’s 2D lights. That was all for today. • Dev Diary #2 - 19 September 2023

  Hello everyone! This month, we have made progress with different Alice abilities, and we have improved older systems. One of those systems is magic. Now you can equip up to four spells and easily cast them through spell shortcuts. There’s a big variety of spells to pick from, so have fun looking for your favorite combination! Another update goes to the “Drink Me” ability, the first ability Alice finds in her adventure. We have updated the visuals to make it look smoother. We have also added a lot of smaller updates, but we want to keep these announcements brief, so we will say goodbye with a picture of Alice’s main weapon.   Hello everyone, We are back with another monthly update. At last, we are approaching the culmination of the tea springs area, and only a few more rooms are left unfinished. Here is one of our latest set pieces for it: To add some more variety, we are also adding a new type of enemy to the other aberrant fauna you may find down in the caves. This poor rat has been parasitized by one of the strange roses invading the cave, and is wandering mindlessly to find new hosts. It may not have the best sight, but don’t get caught by those tendrils, its thorns are excruciatingly sharp. We have also been putting some work into Alice’s magic system. We are saving it for the next update, but we are making sure that spell casting feels agile, varied, and satisfying. Almost as satisfying as opening an unbirthday present.   Hello everyone, Firstly, we want to express our gratitude to everyone who has wishlisted the game so far. Your support motivates us greatly and fuels our motivation to create a game that all metroidvania fans can enjoy! Since we made our Steam page public in late March, we have been working non-stop, and we're excited to share with you our progress and our vision for the near and future developments. Our primary focus has been finishing one of the first areas, the subterranean tea springs. This is where the villagers from above collect tea from a well. Currently, the area is being overtaken by a mysterious rose vine plant, and its thorns will provide a dangerous obstacle to overcome. At the same time, we have been refining the game’s mechanics, finishing up a few systems and drafting item descriptions and story material.
