The development might've been slow, because life happened and all that, but now I'm back, stronger than ever - and so are the crabs!This update is Ambitious in many ways. It removes a number of old things that did not click, adds a whole new layer to the game and leans much heavier into the "MMO raid" thematic. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Raid Leaders! 302 days ago, in March, Crab Raid Tactics demo have been published on Itch. Later, in May, it came to Steam as well. I want to sincerely thank everyone who played the game, added it to their wishlist, shared their feedback and ideas with me. Greetings, Raid Leaders! It seems like I accidentally erased the text contents of this update, and I'm stupid enough to not see the way to roll it back. Oops! This was the version that was showcased on DevGAMM Lisbon 2023. This is also where I announced I won the public pitch. The version introduced a lot of changes to game balance, flipping it upside down, restructured encounters, introduces Objectives and Side Objectives to each encounter: 2 New Objectives: Protect the Totems and Treasure Hunt 4 Side Objectives: 3 for avoiding arena mechanics in each of the areas and 1 for keeping all totems alive (only on Protect The Totem encounters) GL;HF! Greetings, Raid Leaders! You probably haven't heard a lot of things about Crab Raid Tactics, and that's about to change. I won't bore you with a lot of details about how Ex Tenebris is officially an Indie Studio based in Slovenia, and how I am a proud founder of it. Today, I bring you the first update that proudly wears its own name - Pathfinder's Update! Today is also the start of Steam Strategy Fest, so would it not be the perfect occasion? Raid Structure Remember how levels used to shuffle randomly between Shore and Underwater areas? Time for some pathfinding to happen. It is now divided into different Areas. Greetings, Raid Leaders! In today's update I will be covering the last missing piece of Crab Raid Tactics' core gameplay - Elemental Reactions! I had this system in mind for a while, but was reluctant to implement it from the start - it does complicate things in the long run, and I wanted to make sure existing core gameplay is polished and comfortable enough to accept a new system on top of it. While there are still improvements to be made - I believe now's the best time to spice it up a bit. What are Elemental Reactions? Introduction Welcome to Crab Raid Tactics - a unique blend of a Roguelike Dungeon Crawler and a Combat-Oriented Real Time Strategy. The idea for this game came to me a long time ago, when I was a Raid Leader in a WoW guild. The boss mechanics there inspired me, and I wanted to make a single-player experience that would capture the feel of leading your squad in battle and helping them overcome boss mechanics while they fool around, struggling to get out of AoE zones. Crab Raid Tactics has controls of a strategy game. Each unit - a crab - posesses a number of abilities and uses them on cooldown. It is up to the player to position the squad strategically to face the coming challenge.
