  • v1.2.1 Patch Notes - 12 April 2026

We've noticed that a few players have run into some major issues when playing online. Particularly, lobbies that completely disappear from the public list, as well as some unexpected inconsistencies when playing with more than 4 players in the lobby. We've made several upgrades to the netcode that should make the game a lot more stable and less error-prone in those scenarios. If you ever run into strange unexpected behavior while playing online, be aware that quitting and completely recreating the lobby will almost always fix all issues. Even then, make sure to let us know about the problem and we'll do everything we can to fix it! Fixed a bug where lobbies would sometimes stay hidden even after a match is over. Fixed a bug where the game had a chance to crash if a Kitsuro or Wandit head belonging to Player 5-8 struck a beach ball in Vigorous Venue. Fixed an issue where other players wo…

  • 1.0 Launch is finally here! - 11 February 2026

It is time! Crackpots finally hit version 1.0! This marks the full release of the game, and the end of the Early Access period. This is the biggest update we've ever had, featuring a new character, stage, new game modes, masks, and a ton of new features and pieces of content. We're holding nothing back on this one!Introducing: Wandit, the headless dog!Wandit is a magical dog that gained the ability to separate his head from his body. When you play as Wandit, you'll have to consciously track and control the position of 2 separate entities: the body, and the head. You can control his body directly like any other character. His head, instead, will float in place until you use a command to move it to a new position. It's a lot of work, but once you master him, you'll be able to consistently control 2 areas of the battlefield at once!Strike:Press the strike button to hit stuff with Wandit's…

  • Wandit, the Headless Dog is coming on February 11! - 22 December 2025

Wandit, the next core member of the Crackpots Club, is almost here!Wandit is a completely normal and unremarkable dog. Except he just stole the most powerful wand in the academy (he just thinks it's a toy), granting him endless magical potential!Wandit's main characteristic as a Crackpots Club character is his floating head. It moves completely independently from his body! You control his body directly with the control stick, and can jump and strike as you'd expect. With his special move: Fetch! you'll change the position of his head. The head will automatically strike any bullet it touches, making it a very powerful area-denying tool. Shots, are also originated from Wandit's head, which means you can freely move his body around and even strike bullets while charging up a shot. The head itself cannot strike and charge at the same time though, so you'll still have to time your shots care…

New FeaturesWhen playing against 2-Player team, your Pot. Health now gets a 30% increase. • Development Update 7: Mask Collection - 14 July 2025

Last week, we talked about some Mask Upgrades, mainly Mask Tokens and unlock conditions. But how exactly do you use your Mask Tokens? Introducing the Mask Collection! The mask collection provides a convenient list of every single mask in the game, divided in different categories.Every mask that can be purchased with Tokens has a price displayed, and you can press a button to purchase it directly from this screen. Also, every mask that you've yet to unlock holds a small hint on how to unlock it. These hints are not particularly specific, but as you keep unlocking other masks, you'll probably be able to figure out what they are by yourself! There are also multiple kinds of mask, and these types are displayed on each mask you've unlocked.Common: They spawn randomly as you play, simply touch one to collect it! They can also be stolen from other players by stunning them.Rare: They're tied to sp…

  • Development Update 6: Masks Updates - 7 July 2025

You may already be familiar with our Mask collection system. it was always a bit of an experiment, but we're finally making some big upgrades to it!First off, we have a lot of new masks prepared for the 1.0 release, and we're still working on increasing that collection! But that's not what we're here to talk about. In the current version of the game, there's a chance that a mask you've already collected is gonna spawn in the match. This is, of course, completely useless. In the launch version, however, you might want still want to collect them, because every time you collect a duplicate mask you'll be rewarded with a Mask Token!Just what the heck is a Mask Token? They're a brand new kind of currency that allows you to unlock masks you've yet to find! Every mask that can randomly drop in the map can be purchased with Mask Tokens, which will make it a lot easier to complete your mask collec…

  • Development Update 5: Crackpotpedia - 30 June 2025

We've realized that most PCs load a bit too fast to actually make use of all the tips we've created. That's why we're introducing the Crackpotpedia! We put every single one of our loading screen tips in this one spot. You you ever want to learn some more specifics about any of Crackpots' features, you can visit the Crackpotpedia to read about it!We've separated all tips into convenient categories to make specific tips easier to find, and even added a trivia section with some new fun details about all of our characters. Of course, tips will continue to appear in the loading screen, and you can even make use of the Wait on Load option to give yourself more time to read them. But now you'll be able to read them all in one place if you want to!

  • Development Update 4: Arcade Bonuses - 23 June 2025

We've already talked about Arcade Mode, but there's one last thing we'd like to cover: The scoring system! When you finish a match, you'll be given a score based on several factors: Remaining time (accounting for all rounds) Rounds Won, Mana Generated (from strikes and potions), Ultimate Power generated (from strikes, shots and specials) and how much damage was dealt to your potiion (the less damage, the more points!).But the part that's probably a bit more interesting is the special Bonuses. Each bonus has specific criteria, and if you manage to trigger that criteria on any round, you'll be awarded a bonus at the end of the match. Think of them as mini-achievements!You can already see a few bonuses in the screenshot above. This is what they mean:FirSt!!1!: You scored the first bullet of the match.Frontliner: Spent most of your time in the front of the arena.Too Slow: Your opponent score…

  • Development Update 3: Arcade Mode - 16 June 2025

We've mentioned Arcade Mode multiple times through development, but we haven't exactly shared any details on what exactly that is. Let's change that!If you have some fighting game experience you probably know what to expect! Arcade is a single-player, highly replayable mode where you go through several stages of standard matches. Your performance gets scored in each match and will be saved as a high-score once you complete the playthrough! Each icon in the lower section of the screen represents a stage. Character icons are standard Crackpots matches (though you'll get a variety of rulesets!), while the bottles represent a minigame. We've already shared some details on the first one in the previous Dev Update, but there's also a second minigame that we'll be showing off at a later date. You'll play a single round of both minigames in each run, and they're both a chance to give your score…

  • Development Update 2 - 6 June 2025

A couple of weeks ago, we revealed some footage of a new minigame. Why don't we take a closer look? This is Brick Breaker (WIP name). There's actually multiple ways to play it. The first way is through Arcade Mode, you'll go through a single round in each playthrough, and play to increase your overall score. The second way is right from the menu! When playing from the menu you can play two different modes. You can play a single round with any character. This works exactly the same as in Arcade Mode, but completely self-contained. Your score gets saved as a highscore, separated for each character. The most important factor in your score is your completion time. The faster you are, the higher your score! But if you fail to break all bricks, you'll only be scored on the amount of bricks you managed to break, which is a massive hit to the final score. The second mode is the Endless Run! As you…

  • Development Update - 24 May 2025

Hey Crackpotters! It's been a while since we've been able to share anything, but we've been making some great progress on the development side. We're still not quite ready to commit to a date for the 1.0 launch, as there's a lot of things we still need to prepare, so I'm afraid you'll have to wait a bit longer. That said, we don't want to just leave you in the dark and disappear again until the release happens. There's a lot of exciting stuff we're working on for the final release and we can't wait to show it off! We'll be sharing some of the things we've been cooking in the following weeks, starting with some brand-new gameplay footage of a new mini-game you'll run into while playing Arcade Mode. You can join us on the official Crackpots Discord, let us know what you think!

  • v0.10.2.0 Patch Notes - 10 February 2025

Fixed an oversight that left Kitsuro unaffected by the stop-watch item. Fixed an issue where Moranna's max-charge bullet and her Story Minigame shots would would drag the game's performance down. Fixed an issue where Mothilda's shield would sometimes appear on Mothilda's back during defeat sequences. Fixed an issue where CPU Mothildas…
