Hello everyone, and thank you for playing RED DAWN.It's been two months since our last announcement. We sincerely apologize for the long silence.In this post, we'd like to explain why the update has been taking longer than expected.We've been struggling financially... especially our programmer.Both of us have been working other jobs to earn money.During that time, I injured the ligaments in my hand.There is still a fair amount of character illustration work remaining after Chapter 12.We've also been fixing a lot of messy code left behind by the previous programmer.We are currently planning to release the update sometime in July.And once again, thank you to everyone who is still waiting for and supporting the game.

Did you all pick up some great games during the Spring Sale? 🌸🎮I’d like to briefly introduce the next update!Character Creation System Added You will be able to create characters by customizing their hair color, skin color, eye color, speaking style, affiliation, class, and name.Melee Attack Added Characters will now perform a melee attack with the buttstock of their weapon against enemies directly in front of them instead of shooting. This attack always hits (100% success rate).More Items Added! Hello everyone who’s been looking forward to RedDawn,As 2025 comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to talk about the journey so far.This year has been incredibly meaningful for RedDawn. At one point, we had completely run out of development funds and believed we wouldn’t be able to continue. Hello everyone who’s looking forward to RedDawn! Here’s this week’s development log!! We’ve added animations and sound effects across the entire UI. The previous UI wasn’t bad, but this update introduces a more polished and improved version. In addition, sounds for reloading and item usage have now been fully implemented. We’ve added new sub-quest Maps! These maps won’t be one-time, disposable content—instead, they’ll be reworked so they can be played multiple times in Skirmish mode. You can now select PERKs when leveling up. One PERK can be chosen every 5 levels, and available PERKs differ depending on the unit class. Controller support was partially available before, but it is now fully supported. You can no longer fire infinitely. Previously, you couldn’t attack without AP, but now your attacks will also be limited by your weapon’s magazine capacity.When your magazine runs out of bullets, you’ll need to reload. Reloading costs 1 AP, so it’s best to do it from a safe position. Machine guns have much larger magazine capacities (Assault Rifle = 6–7 / Machine Gun = 10–15), so their tactical value will increase significantly. More active skills are being added! You’ll be able to heal allies, deploy a trophy system to block explosives, or equip armor plate to reduce damage for a few turns. Previously, entering the barracks required a great deal of patience. After clicking the barracks button, the game would lag for nearly 10 seconds before you could press the “Edit Squad” button to customize your characters. And if you wanted to edit another character, you had to go back and load the scene again — because the barracks were in a separate scene.Now, you can instantly manage your characters’ equipment or inventory right after pressing the barracks button!
