This build contains the first release of our new challenge mode: Snax's Gambit.How it worksAs you progress through the story mode, you'll unlock challenges. For each challenge, you can try to beat your own high score or impress your friends on the online leaderboards. There are two types of challenges: Battle and Collection. For Battle challenges, the objective is simple: defeat three rounds of enemies and earn a high score by being accurate, avoiding damage, and maximizing your combo multipliers. - Happy New Year, Me Mateys! - 1 January 2026
Happy New Year, Me Mateys! Fresh off our Xmas Day patch-stravaganza, we're pleased to announce two new achievements to unlock:First, there's "Snow No!!!", which is achieved by defeating all the snowmen in the Sugarplum Mountain - Bottom level. Our motivation with this achievement is two-fold: 1) to add an additional challenge to players who are already adept at speed-running up the trails in this level and 2) to clarify that the snowmen are saying "snow no!!!" and not "oh no!!!" when being defeated. This was a bit a point of pride in the studio, and point of confusion on more than a couple Twitch streams. Note: The snowmen are also saying "snow, snow, snow, snow..." when idling around launching boulders at the player. - Snowman combat tweaks - 28 December 2025
This small update changes the snowman enemy behavior to prevent them spawning boulders when Captain Smokey is very close. This should fix an issue where the player was insta-hit by a boulder as soon as it is spawned and make defeating the snowmen more satisfying. Also, we're planing to add an achievement for defeating all the snowmen in Sugarplum Mountain - Bottom in a subsequent update. Ahoy! With this update, we've tweaked how the red presents hidden in each level work. There are now ten (10) presents in each level, and locations of the presents on each run are randomized. This is a small update with a few tweaks to the reindeer boss battle in Sugarplum Mountain - Top:The hitboxes on the reindeer have been updated to prevent issues where Cap's attacks would sail over the reindeer's backs. We've updated the respawn point to avoid Cap getting bombarded from all sides on respawn.We've given Cap a half-second of invulnerability after being hit. This should prevent multiple hits from the reindeer laser blasts eating a big chunk of Cap's health at one time.Huge shout out to for streaming Swashbuckler's.
