- Game Hotfix v46.1 - 19 July 2025
\- Fix city generation bug resulting in Day 2 Cities with no Plethora- Fix mouse interactions for Situation Table buttons
- Game Update V46 - 3 July 2025
Attention all Heirs! The patch today is mostly a polish pass again, this time looking at some community reports about the Plethora failing to spawn. Some changes were made especially in the Tutorials to avoid some cases of accidental softlocks, and other changes were made to how the Plethora pool management system that should make sure there are always more ready to be spawned for the next wave.On top of various other cleanups and fixes, the game HUD UI sees a bit of improvement by adopting a design very similar to that used by the Situation Room. As technologies are unlocked or upgraded from evacuated VIPs, the UI should provide better feedback of the current unlocks and tiers. Additionally, this was an opportunity to replace the progress meters for the evacuation, which also uses something very similar found in the Situation Room. The Situation Room evacuation meter will continue to re…
- Game Update V45 - 16 April 2025
Attention all Heirs! Today's patch is mostly a polish patch, focusing specifically around the Situation Room and map generation. It includes many optimizations and fixes related to how the map nodes are scattered and connected. These efforts should remove the chances of edge cases like having maps with no Launch Site, or showing incorrectly available routes when the Launch Site is in danger, or overrun cities being destroyed that can still be reached. There are also some changes to city VIP visibility. As the city becomes closer, more details about the city will become available. A directly connected city will show full details as it does now. A city 2 days away will show the number of VIPs and the category (weapons, callins, logistics or support), and a city 3 days away will show only the number of VIPs, but no details. Finally, everything 4 days and further will be completely unknown…
- Game Update V44 - 3 February 2025
Attention all Heirs! This patch introduces several new gameplay changes primarily regarding the Logistics Center. Most significantly, the Weapons Assembly and Command Operations tables will now no longer send Echion back after a project is completed. Additionally, the Logistics tables can have their projects cancelled by long pressing the assignment keys. The cancellation takes a bit over a second, and new projects will be assigned based on what's available, with the progress reset to 0. Finally, Logistics tables have a diminishing return to assigned Echion; more Echion will still increase completion speeds, but each will contribute a little less. Another new feature introduced in this patch are Scientists. Scientists are escort missions that provide incremental upgrades to shields, logistics tables, or already unlocked weapons. Scientists are available to be extracted after the city an…
- Full Release of Terra Exodus - 11 January 2025
Attention all Heirs! This first patch of the New Year will serve as the exit from Steam Early Access and the also the introduction of Final Stand Mode. Final Stand is a single city scenario where there is no population to evacuate, only VIPs. Each VIP will unlock a weapon upgrade, Call In, Table upgrade or new Echion as usual, resulting in a more and more devastating arsenal throughout the course of a single city run against the endless building tides of Plethora! There is lots of great ideas for Terra Exodus still left on the cutting room floor, so I'll continue to support the game with fixes or even features as questions or suggestions come up. This patch also comes with a number of fixes, mostly related to the tutorials and general menu experience polish, as well as other small things here and there. - Fix case where an Active Uplink VIP Operation will also count as completing the ne…
- Game Update V42 - 7 December 2024
Attention all Heirs! This weekend's update is finally the addition of some small story elements filling out the world of Terra Exodus. After every campaign, if at least a minor victory was achieved, an Archive Entry will be unlocked. An entry in the Archives is a small peek into the lives of the survivors of the first invasion, and some of the days after Exodus begins. To make room for this in the Situation Room, a new UI was designed to help get around a little. This means the codex and the archives are now immediately available on beginning or resuming a campaign. The current tech and weapon tiers list is also cleaned up a little to make things a little more clear of the current situation. Finally, the expected Plethora pressure (indicating wave sizes, frequency, and intensity) is moved from the city view and is now indicated globally by its own progress bar. This update also makes so…
- Game Update V41 - 4 October 2024
Attention all Heirs! Today's update looks to fix the Steam integration of stats and achievement unlocking, as well as some adjustments to the some of their requirements. As usual, various other fixes are available as well, including a speculative fix for the occasional crash during generator explosions at the end of a mission. - Better handling of Next/Previous Operation when dealing with Generator Overloading - Improved Tier 1 and 2 Artillery spread - Tier 2 Artillery no longer explodes too high - Pause Menu will no longer be unpaused by gameplay time dilations - Speculative fix for end of level crash - Fix camera snapping at beginning of Orbital Drop - Fix shields being visible too early when they drop in - Improvements to pathfinding between Muster points - Prevent Generator Overload too early in Tutorial 1 - Tutorial 1 Heavy Plethora show up timed with Surge wave - Tutorial 2 street…
- Game Update V40 - 29 September 2024
Attention all Heirs! Today is the first post Early Access release, mostly consisting of various bug fixes. In particular, there was a problem reported by the community with regards the screenshake controls, preventing it to work entirely. While fixing it, it seemed like a good opportunity to add controller force feedback to various game events and the menu. There is a new force feedback tick box to enable or disable controller rumble in the same menu as the screen shake. - Add Controller Force Feedback to game events and menus - Tier 1 Mortar Tower shells can no longer collide together mid air - Fix Tier 3 Singularity Tower black hole; it will actually show up and kill Plethora now - Overrun cities ramp up wave sizes faster - Fix Camera Shake control slider - Add Game Menu item to toggle Controller Force Feedback - Reduce Assembly and Command Table reflections in Launch Site tunnels - S…
- Early Access Release - 25 September 2024
Terra Exodus has finally reached Steam Early Access! After around four years of tinkering, and I'm proud to say my hobby project has finally culminated in its second public release in the form of Early Access. Thanks to friends and family who checked it out and gave feedback on this strange beast along the way! If you are new here, thanks for checking out another fringe indie game. If you've seen this before, then you might know this is just the first step of many more to come to bring the Terra Exodus experiment to a fun conclusion. I've really enjoyed the process of getting this far, and I hope I can leave you the players with a unique strategy experience and world to think about. I've got a lot more in the pipeline in terms of features I'd like to add, and lots of polish to existing systems before we can call this a 1.0 release, but I think this is a good start, and am looking forwar…
- Game Update v39 - 24 September 2024
Attention all Heirs! Today's update is the final pre early access launch patch, rolling together fixes for a lot of small issues (and some bigger ones). Tomorrow, September 25th, is finally Early Access release day! There are also a few important gameplay changes, specifically regarding the Command Center, Active Uplinks, and how Tier 3 Call Ins are handled. Call Ins and Shields will only get a free upgrade on an Active Uplink if the next Tier is unlocked. Additionally, Command Tables can only build Tier 1 and Tier 2 Operations, meaning Tier 3 can only be deployed on a successful Active Uplink. - Call In won't be deployed if the recall button is held - Active Uplink doesn't give a free tier upgrade until it is unlocked - Tier 3 Call Ins and Shields only possible by Active Uplinks - Tier 3 Call Ins will destroy shields on the side of impact - More plethora Grunts per wave, but they are g…
- Game Update v38 - 15 September 2024
Attention all Heirs! This weekend's update brings most changed to UI, in particular a new Loadout menu replacing the earlier Heir and Gambits menu. The menu is intended to better show the consequences of gambit selection to the evacuation, as well as demonstrate exactly the Heirs' conditions. In general, it should be easier and more intuitive to navigate heirs and gambit selection with both mouse and keyboard/gamepad. The camera movement (with controller thumbsticks) adds a zoom to the movement as well at the extremities, which lets the more curious players check in on the frontlines. While sorting this out, several camera inconsistencies were also ironed out. As usual, if you run into any issues with continuing a campaign in progress from an old save, simply starting a new campaign should fix the issue. This generally works for most campaign related issues. - Add zoom to free camera mo…
- Game Update v37 - 1 September 2024
Attention all Heirs! This update features improvement to the Launch Mission game flow and Plethora Prime AI. In addition to some wave tuning, the Launch missing will switch between rush waves (similar to when a city is evacuated) when a shuttle is being launched and back to normal waves afterwards. However, resuming the normal waves will also trigger a mighty Plethora Prime! Speaking of the Prime, it is now much more focused on getting to the end of the lane. Getting itself in position to smash the generator is a top priority, smashing anything that gets in its way! The generator will also take a lot more damage from the Prime, requiring only 2 blows to be destroyed. Finally, shields get some all round upgrades, allowing each tier some regeneration after a small period of time without taking damage. Tier 3 Shields take only a few seconds before the regeneration starts, so make sure to s…
- Game Update v36 - 17 August 2024
Attention all Heirs! The biggest gameplay adjustment in this patch is for the way the generator handles damage. Instead of only one hit for its destruction, it will now take a small amount of damage every time it is hit by the Plethora. The damage adds to the Overdrive Meter, and when it fills up, the generator is destroyed. A pass over the Heirs has Lauren now with a wrist mounted Shock Pack dealing fast electric damage at short range. Maven's Gas Canister Launcher does damage over time to the afflicted Plethora, plus any Plethora close by. Finally, the last level is now playable as the last level of the Tutorial. This will give players a chance to try a shuttle launch mission in a low stakes environment, as well as get an early chance to see some of the Heir selection options. - Generator takes damage, adds to overdrive meter - Adjust ranges of Heir weapons to reflect what's shown at…
- Game Update v35 - 8 August 2024
Attention all Heirs! This update is a bit later than expected, but comes with a redesigned final level for the shuttle launch site, made with new buildings and a slightly modified objective. Every city evacuated leading up to the launch site will be designated a launch shuttle, and each shuttle requires a pilot. Once the pilot is successfully escorted to the shuttle, it will be granted clearance for blastoff, filling the streets with flames dangerous to Echion, Shields, and Plethora the same. If the Plethora manage to break through, any shuttles not already launched are lost, enire cities might be left behind! Other important gameplay additions include removing the Assembly Table tier requirement to assemble weapons. Once unlocked, weapons can be built at tables regardless of the their level. On the other side of the logistics center, the VIP operation will always need Echion escorts. A…
- Game Update v34 - 18 July 2024
Attention all Heirs! This update is entirely focused in the situation room. Two new city types are introduced, abandoned and launch sites. Abandoned cities are those that are already evacuated, and don't contribute to population lost or saved. Launch sites are where the final holdout will take place in the sector, where the populations of all evacuated cities will be finally loaded onto the escape rockets. There is only Launch Site per sector, and if the invasion zone reaches it, the Launch Site must be defended and launched immediately. All other missions are cancelled. Estimated city population loss is now dynamic based on the zone it lands in. Cities in the safe zone estimate a 5% population loss, invasion zone is 10%, and the overrun has a 15% estimated population loss. - Cities on the situation table are a bit "sticky" to the mouse hover - New city type Abandoned - New city type La…
- Game Update v33 - 12 July 2024
Attention all Heirs! Today's update was mostly centered around the unification of the camera system between the dropship and the city gameplay. This comes with a variety of polishing side effects, such as cleaning up situations where the camera could cut through the ship, or snap unexpectedly from old locations. The camera has also been set up to allow a few degrees of rotation when using a controller with the controller thumbsticks. This isn't intended to be a gameplay tool, but more for those a bit more curious about the environment, and to emphasize that the d-pad is required for gameplay. - Camera can be slightly directed with controller thumbsticks - Enable mouse usage in settings menu in the city - Improved mouse interaction with situation table cities hovering - Can no longer issue Recall commands at the end of the round - Prevent camera snapping between menus and locations of th…
- Game Update v32 - 30 June 2024
Demo Update v32 This update tries to improve in game player guidance with new input cues when assigning and recalling Echion. In addition to moving the Generator Overcharge input cues off the main HUD and next to the generator instead, the Generator is also sensitive to the Plethora now. When they get close enough, the input icons will show up to suggest the player to begin an Overcharge. Keep in mind though, the Overcharge will easy kill off nearby Plethora, but it will also damage your shields, and will blow your generator if you go too far! Other improvements with input suggestions and general player feedback include floating buttons for Recall, and new effects for Echion assignments, recall zones, and assignments when the muster pool is empty. - Reduction in size of Hold Back waves after the city is fully evacuated - Echion will pick an available Logistics table with most open slots…
- Game Update v31 - 22 June 2024
Attention all Heirs! The update was mostly finding and ironing out the crash that often happened at the end of a city. This update also adds controls to change the current operation. This is especially handy during the final hold back sections, since sometimes you can be sitting on a big inventory of Call Ins ready to go, but what you really want is to drop in some replacement shields. While doing this, it started to make sense to add better indications for Generator Overcharging in general, and that finally resulted in moving the Overcharge functions to the new Operation changing keys. It takes a bit of dexterity, but it's now possible to Overcharge, and assign or recall Echion at the bunker and the logistics center, and trigger a Call In all at the same time! - Space || Right Trigger --> Active Uplink - Left Shift || Left Trigger --> Recall Modifier - E || Right Shoulder --> Next Oper…
