- v1.58 Update: The "Soylent Uraz" scenario is out - 15 August 2026
Hey everyone, update v1.58 is live.I've been working on the Soylent Uraz scenario for a while now, and it is finally finished and fully playable. Unlike the other scenarios, this one starts in the year 1999 and is heavily inspired by Soylent Green.I would really appreciate it if you could give it a try and share your feedback. It is notoriously hard to objectively test your own work as a solo dev,, so your fresh eyes on this would be great.I also sneaked in a few minor improvements to the multiplayer modeThanks for playing
- Small update: Looking for feedback on scenarios - 3 July 2026
Hey folks. Just wanted to drop a quick update and ask if anyone has some feedback regarding the scenarios in the game.I am currently working on the new Soylent Uraz scenario, and to be honest, I feel like I am working a bit blind right now. I would really appreciate it if anyone wants to share their thoughts on the writing quality, the choices, or the endings of the scenarios. Also, minor SPOILER: as you can probably guess from the name, this new scenario is heavily inspired by Soylent Green. Keeping that in mind, let me know what you would like to see. Should there be more endings? Do you want the choices in between to branch out more? I am completely open to any kind of feedback and ideas.Drop your thoughts in the comments or the discussions

I am actively working on the rest of it and will bring it to you in a future update.Thx for playing
- Minor Update: A Guide-Style Gameplay Video & Scenario Progress! - 9 June 2026
Hey everyone!I know a lot of you have been struggling to fully grasp the POP system, election mechanics, and action elements. To be completely honest, I spent days trying to build a better, interactive in-game tutorial to fix this, but I couldn't quite get it right. Since the learning curve is still a bit of a wall, I decided to take a different approach for now. I have added a new button inside the in-game book called "Walkthrough-style gameplay video". It links directly to a great guide-style gameplay video. While it is not a traditional full tutorial, watching someone play and explain their moves highlights the core mechanics and overall strategy much better than my text panels do. If you are feeling lost, I highly recommend giving it a watch. Development Teaser: Also, a quick development update: I am currently working on the new "Soylent Uraz" scenario, and I am happy to announce th…
- Turkish Indies: Strategy Bundle is Live! - 5 June 2026
Hey everyone.Alongside a small update today, I am very excited to announce that the Turkish Indies: Strategy Bundle is officially live!I have partnered with the creator of Turkish Throne—another solo Turkish indie developer—to bring our political strategy games together. While Statecraft focuses on the dark bureaucracy and micro-management of the parliament, Turkish Throne lets you experience the thrill of the national campaign trail and the fight for the presidency. If you already own Statecraft, you can use the bundle to get Turkish Throne at an exclusive "complete the set" discount. It is a great way to support solo indie developers and experience two different sides of political strategy
- Alliance Rework & Localization Fixes V1.48.9 - 4 June 2026
Fixes:Fixed missing English localizations for the "Nationalist Dystopia" and "Great Migration" events. The Alliance Rework: In the old system, AI bots were hard-coded to never accept an alliance if your vote share was lower than theirs. No matter how much money you offered, it was an automatic reject.I've completely rewritten this to make it more logical. Here is how the new system works starting today:The Leader: The party with the highest vote share will always auto-reject alliance offers.Other Parties: They now calculate a minimum "Price" to accept an offer.Price Formula: Threshold + (Bot's Current Budget / 2) (Threshold is 1 for Easy, and 5 for Normal/Hard)Offer = Price: Base acceptance chance starts at 70%. Every extra million you offer adds +5% (up to 100%)Quick Example (Normal Difficulty): Target bot has 4 million in their budget. Their price: 5 (threshold) + 2 (half budget) = 7 m…
- Upcoming Update: Custom Event Images & UI Modding Support - 31 May 2026
Hey everyone! Thank you so much for playing the game and sharing your honest feedback. I read all of your reviews and comments. One of the most common critiques I’ve received is about the AI-generated event images. I completely hear you. Since there are over 650 events in the game, completely replacing all of them by myself isn't really possible. However, I want to give this community the tools to replace them with real, human-made art or photos if they want to!To make this happen, I am currently working on opening up the game to support Visual and UI modding. Since I'm a solo developer, digging into the core code to make the engine load external images smoothly is quite a challenging and time-consuming process. It takes a lot of careful work under the hood to make sure everything runs without breakingI am putting a lot of effort into this, and if everything goes well, I am aiming to rel…
- New Election/Vote UI, Advisor Letters & QoL 1.48.7 - 29 May 2026
Thx for all the feedback since launch! I realized the math behind the elections was a bit too hidden, making it hard to plan your moves. So, I just pushed a quick update to make things much clearer.New "Vote Distribution" Panel! No more guessing why you lost an election. This new UI shows exactly how votes are split among the 5 interest groups. You can see the actual POP sizes and party relations. The key thing to remember is that it's all about relative relations—even if your relation is 80, if a rival has 90, they steal the majority of those votes. This panel visualizes the race so you know exactly who to focus on.Advisor Letters To help with the learning curve, I added 3 new advisor letters that will pop up in your inbox (supported in all 6 languages):Welcome: A quick reminder to check your inbox for incoming tips and crises.Vote-split warning: Triggers if support in your main intere…
- Statecraft v1.48.3 — Demoralize Rework - 28 May 2026
What Changed:Demoralize can now only be used in regions where your own ideology is the majority. When used, it heavily lowers all rival parties' relations with your core group by 15 (up from 5).(Note : AI bots will temporarily not use this action while we test the new design)Why It Matters: Fully converting and holding a region now has real strategic value. Once a region is your stronghold, you can actively push rivals out of your base and stop them from siphoning votes that should stay loyal to youThe Road Ahead (R&D): A huge shoutout to Adam /b/ for their deep dive into the vote distribution math. They correctly pointed out that our current linear vote formula causes high-relations parties to leak too many votes to rivals with merely "okay" relations. They suggested a brilliant weighted (power-law) formula for a more realistic model.Since changing the core math right now would break th…
- Struggling with the mechanics? Check out this great gameplay video - 28 May 2026
As I've admitted over the last few days, I know the game has a steep learning curve right now, and the tutorial doesn't do a great job of explaining the underlying mechanics (I am actively working on fixing this!)If you are having a hard time figuring out how things work, I highly recommend checking out this new gameplay video by NoonA quick tip for watching: I especially recommend paying attention to his second run, which starts right around the 1: 02: 15 mark. He actually loses his first run as he figures things out, but he learns from those mistakes. Because of that, the run starting at 1: 02: 15 serves as a practically perfect tutorial!Watching his playthrough is a fantastic way to understand how the politics flow, how to manage different interest groups, and how your decisions actually impact the world.A huge thank you to him for putting out this incredibly valuable gameplay footag…

Hey everyone. We are just hours away from the launch. Right before hitting the button, I’m pushing a small but critical update to make your first run much smoother;Reminder Letters: Since I failed at making a proper tutorial, I added a more organic solution. You'll now receive in-game letters reminding you of upcoming elections and suggesting logical moves during crises.Multiplayer Bug Fixed: Squashed an annoying bug that occurred when sending help to other players. You can now seamlessly support (or backstab) your friends in parliament"I Don't Know Japanese" Mod: I’ve updated the Modding Guide and added a sample mod that literally replaces every event text in the game with the Japanese word for "I don't know" to show how easy modding is.Everything is set. - Demo Update 1.44: Smarter AI, Autorun & Tactics. How about that? - 12 April 2026
The enemy AI stopped shooting itself in the foot. It will no longer take actions that debuff the very options it picked.Want to sit back and watch? Press 'é' to open the console, type "autorun", and hand the wheel to the bot.No more guessing who supported what. The new UI clearly shows which party backed which option in the previous turn.Added a deep dive into your demographics. You can now see detailed stats of all POPs under the "Country" tab in the in-game menu.No more scratching your head over election math. You can now clearly see exactly how many POPs voted for which party from each interest group.Clicking "Keep me informed" on the bottom-left letter actually informs you now. It sends you a letter packed with solid tactics to win the election. When the Bilderstein event triggers, an island icon will now pop up right in the game.Music to your ears: Every party now has its own unique…
- Playtest Ending Soon - 28 March 2026
Last week I asked you to break the game, and you did. The playtest will close in 24-28 hours. Thanks to everyone who jumped in and found creative ways to ruin my mechanics.Until launch, I'll be fixing these bugs and pushing the updates to the Demo instead. If you have any final feedback or crash reports, drop them in the Discussions before time is up. I'm reading all of them.A special shoutout to "KARTAL" for the solid feedback. He pointed out that the voting mechanics need to be clearer and that all interest groups should be represented in ALL events. He also suggested adding a few new sections to the country panel to make the game more intuitive
- Pushing the Release to May 26 - 25 March 2026
I've decided to move the release date of Statecraft from April 14 to May 26.To be completely honest, the game just needs a little more time in the oven. The economy isn't perfectly balanced yet, and I want to make sure the final polish is exactly where it needs to be before you play it.Also, watching you all during the recent playtest (March 21-28) was incredibly eye-opening. Based on how you played, I realized two major things need fixing:Voting UI's is confusing: The current voting mechanism wasn't clear. I’m going to rework the UI and feedback loops so it makes perfect sense the moment you look at it.We need more actions: You need more ways to scheme and strategize.. I'll be adding a bunch of new political actions to give you more freedom and depth.A huge thank you to everyone who joined the playtest and helped me find these blind spots. This extra month will make a massive differenc…

Jump into multiplayer, customize your party, try to start a revolution, and find out where the game crashes, softlocks, or completely breaks. To join, simply go to our store page and click the "Request Access" button to get in the queue. - Need Crisis Event Ideas (Bilderstein Island-Style) - 25 February 2026
As you can see in the that png, I'm setting up a system for in-game events (formatted with a Title, a brief Description of the crisis, and a few tough Choices for the player).I'd really love to hear some of your ideas. What kind of grueling, morally gray, or just plain chaotic political crises would you throw at the players? Any recommendations would be hugely appreciated...
