  • A year of Drop Pockets! - 8 August 2026

It's already been a year since Drop Pockets released in early access, which doesn't feel real to be honest. And while I would have loved to release 1.0 today, it's unfortunately not ready yet. That said, I can give a little showcase of what I've been working on! Firstly, every new Pool Shark is complete! Here's a preview: Average Referee! He adds a slew of foosmen to the table! (yes, that's actually what they're called) Ana! She obscures every ball with static, hope you can remember which one's which! Then, here are three silhouettes of other upcoming sharks. Got any guesses? New felts are also finished! 1.0 will feature a total of 16 felts! Doubling the current amount. I'm not gonna tell you what they do, however. That'll come later. For now I'll just say, expect the new rulesets to be a little more unusual. Next, an introduction to the challenge runs! Themed after a karaoke machine, D…

  • The Road to 1.0 - 4 May 2026

Drop Pockets 1.0 will be the next major update! ...but it will also take a while to finish. Thank you all for your continued support for Drop Pockets, it truly means the world to me. I am excited to work on the 1.0 full release, and I hope you're excited to play it. It unfortunately will take quite a while to complete this update, and I have to ask for your patience. In return, I want to offer my plans for 1.0 additions: Nearly double the current ball count, totaling 128 special balls 14 new Pool Sharks, for a total of 64 A truckload of new items, for yet unknown totals A handful of new felts Special challenge runs And full translations into multiple languages Making Drop Pockets has been an incredible journey so far. I've learned a ton, and made a lot of mistakes. I'm looking forward to making many more for 1.0. Thank you again for being here, for believing in this little billiards game

  • v0.9 Material Madness update - 13 April 2026

This update's main focus is Materials! Specifically, three new ones! Paint balls Paint balls can't score by default, they instead leave behind splotches of paint that give +1 base point to any ball that moves over it Stone balls Stone balls are extra heavy and don't move very far. However, they score themselves for 0.25x whenever they're hit Wood balls Wood are and come with a new hitbox And just to have a better visual distinction between stone and frozen balls, frozen balls have a new look These new materials are locked by default, and unlocked by defeating select pool sharks: Stone ball items are unlocked by defeating Gorgon Ramsay Paint ball items are unlocked by defeating Gennifer Wood ball items are unlocked by defeating Vessa Since materials are the star here, there's not many additional items added. But there are some! New sharks: Hoodini Gennifer Vessa Grim Rapper New balls: Ac…

  • The Happy Hour Update - 3 February 2026

This update adds two new gameplay systems to greatly increase run variety. Pool sharks have feelings too, and now they can express themselves! Shark moods add modifiers to the round. Some are good, some are bad. Here's an example of how a very moody shark can affect your round! There are currently 19 moods to find, and there's always room for more! Every time you select a shark, you now have a 40% chance for a mood to be selected. (and then another 40% chance for a second mood, and so on.) So it's a little rare to run into a shark with the maximum of 4 moods. But if you want to maximize your chances, you can jump into the next new system... Drinks! Down a few shots and add significant challenges to your entire run! This system comes loaded with 12 unique, scaling difficulty modifiers to keep your runs interesting. Briefly, these modifiers are: Game length Increase how many rounds are re…

  • v0.8 - The Shark Bait Update - 29 December 2025

The largest content update for Drop Pockets has finally arrived!! Also I'm not dead! I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who has played Drop Pockets, and who waited patiently for this update to arrive. This is a huge update and took a lot longer than I thought to put together. Thank you all very much, I hope you enjoy it. Added 15 new pool sharks (+50% total shark count!) Added a bunch of new items All stackable ball effects no longer stack and now multiply base score. Items have been added to raise a ball's base score. This functions the same way as hot stacks, but is no longer limited to multiples of 10. Pocket effects has been similarly changed. To avoid confusion between sinks (score limit) and sinks (ball entering pocket,) sinks (score limit) have been renamed to health. Spoilers below! Proper patch notes: NEW SHARKS Unlocked by default:スイカ Drops a random fruit ball when any…
