I’m proud that Winter Burrow is part of the Earth Appreciation Festival on Steam—alongside so many beautiful games that honor our connection to the natural world. Winter Burrow is deeply personal to me. It’s inspired by memories of my mom taking my sister and me to a place in the woods we called Fox Hill. We’d ride our bikes there, eat lunch at the top, and spend hours playing in the forest—building little homes from sticks and pretending we lived there. Now I do the same with my own kids. Whenever we find a hollow tree or tangled roots, we imagine who might live there and tell each other stories. That love of nature has found its way into the game. We’ve put a lot of care into making the world of Winter Burrow feel alive and true to nature—even naming characters after real plants and animals.
