- April Updates — Asphodelium Final Artwork - 30 April 2025
It’s the last day of April, so let’s spend a bit of today to look at some of the progress for Asphodelium! With the full game slated to come out towards the end of June, I had to finish up some of the CGs in game. The extended cut adds several new cut scene artworks, such as this dance CG. Towards the end of the new storyline, Hazel and Aster take some time to enjoy the festival and dance amidst the crowd. It’s rather romantic to dance underneath the moonlight, isn’t it? You can see the art timelapse (art process) for this scene on YouTube! This scene is a culmination of the new storyline, resulting in several different endings from this point onward depending on your choices. With this extended cut, new choices have been added that will greatly affect your relationship with Aster, including brand new bad endings. In order to get it ready for the full release, I’ve also been scripting t…
- March Updates – Self Realization & Identity in Asphodelium - 3 April 2025
Hi everyone, it’s the end of March! We’ve already been over some of the progress for Crimson Waves on the Emerald Sea: Amaranthine Moon, so today we’re going to be looking at the progress for Asphodelium. A major component of Asphodelium is self realization and discovering yourself, which wasn’t something I was able to dive deep into in the original release. The main character Hazel is a trans man who has lived as a man the past 2 years, but has hit a rut in his life because of his adventures. Depression and a lack of aspirations have taken a hold of him, preventing him from focusing on his future. Similarly, the love interest Aster has to tackle his own identity problems, believing that he’s the doppelganger of the man you killed. While Hazel’s depression will be a point in the new scenes, today I want to look at Aster’s identity and how that relates to the player. The upcoming extende…
- February Update – Asphodelium Art - 2 March 2025
Asphodelium had some good progress made this February, such as getting the script ready to be programmed into the game. This is a finicky process that takes a while depending on the length, but it’s done now and the extra storyline + scenes can be added into the game. A few have already been scripted, too! Now that it’s all in engine, the current word count is 66k, which will further increase with a few more ending tweaks. There was also lots of art progress in February! Here’s some WIPs of the upcoming new CGs. The extended cut for Asphodelium will be $9.99 on Steam and itchio and will release late spring – early summer. It’s not very far away! Be sure to wishlist it if you want to support us~ And be sure to download the demo before it gets removed prior to the extended cut being released! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3141490/Asphodelium_Demo/ Last but not least - Asphodelium wil…

- January Update – Asphodelium Writing & Art - 15 January 2025
It’s the start of the new year and here’s the first devlog of the year! After releasing Canvas Menagerie in December, we’re now focused on our otome sequel game Crimson Waves on the Emerald Sea: Amaranthine Moon and an extended version of our melancholic BL Asphodelium. To better give updates on both of these projects, we’ll be doing 2 devlogs a month. At the middle of the month will be a devlog on Asphodelium (you’re here!) and at the end of the month will be for CWES: Amaranthine Moon. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s take a look at Asphodelium! Asphodelium’s 1.0 version was released a year ago in January 2024. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, it’s a melancholic lite horror boys love visual novel about cults, killing, and killing cults. And being gay. You can see a preview of the current build here: The January 2024 release included an entire storyline over 40k words and was c…
