- Community Update #11 Early Access launches on May 26th! - 19 May 2025
Greetings, Travelers! We are excited to announce the release of Taverna on May 26th on Steam! During the last weeks we have been working hard on bringing new features into the game. Taverna has a new game mode: Tycoon, every few minutes your tavern will be valuated based on what you place, the valuation will be then reported into a world ranking, visible in the main menu! https://i.imgur.com/3ebA2lT.png Another feature that we implemented is a new quest system: connected to Steam achievements there will be missions that you can complete to unlock new roles. - Community Update #9 Taverna updated to Godot 4.4 - 25 March 2025
Greetings, Travelers! With the release of Godot 4.4 at the beginning of March, we decided it was the right moment to update Taverna to the latest tech. What are the improvements? There's a lot on the table. Jolt physics engine has been officially included into the engine (it was an extension before), this will allow us in the future to add physics prediction easily to the game, that will reduce noticeably latency as client while interacting with objects. It will not come soon, but we already have done some tests and it's going to be amazing. Shaders stutters are almost solved now. With the introduction of ubershaders, compiling will be only occur a couple of times, so the overall initial experience is going to be improved. A new tonemapping has been introduced: AgX. We are still experimenting with it, but as it stands it's a nice graphical improvement with no performance costs. Physics…

Greetings, Travelers! It's February 1st, 00:00, where is the demo promised in January? Well... The team had some personal life inconveniences that made us decide to delay the demo release for couple of weeks. Although all the current developed features will be present in the demo, we want to focus this release on painting. There are a few reasons for this but mainly is giving new players a clear gameplay target to explore. Some of the features included in the demo are painting, coating, music instruments, tavern customization, and other interesting sandbox gimmicks. Greetings, Travelers! Today, we’re talking about role-play. Roles are an important part of Taverna, as we see them as a way to give meaning to your character and provide an incipit to your story in the tavern. Once you join a tavern, you will be able to choose your role. Depending on your choice, you will spawn with specific items (or more than one), and your role name will be displayed on the nameplate above your character. Roles are divided into two categories: Adventurers (customers) and Staff. Greetings Travelers! Work continues tirelessly to bring out the demo of the game. We are pleased to announce that it will be released next month, January 2025 (the specific date will be announced in the near future). For the demo you will be able to experience the "Creative" mode of the game. The objective is to give you a solid demonstration on what the game is in its core. A "Survival" mode will be added in the future with hunger, thirst debuffs and more. For "this week's cool stuff"...
