- The Walking Trade - Patch v1.1.13 - 20 August 2026
Hey guys, it’s been a hot minute since the last patch as September’s Rooftop Farming update grows closer and closer. That patch was intended to bring a couple of improvements and quality of life players have asked for for a while, but, I’ve decided to push them early.ImprovementsAll shelves can now be configured to set dedicated items on them for the Cleaners to follow. If this is not set, Cleaners will treat that shelf as usual and try to infer what should be on there based on current contents. The game will now keep track of ‘known items’ so as you interact with more items, those items will appear in the shelf configuration. When hovering over a shelf you can now see what the Cleaners will infer to place on it based on its contents. This should hopefully give a bit more clarity on why certain items are placed where they are.Cleaners will now take loose items from the Warehouse to shelv…

- The Walking Trade - Accessibility Patch v1.1.11 - 2 July 2026
I swear physics will be the death of me. Thank you all for continuing to give me vital feedback on the state of the new physics update in the game. As well as some needed physics fixes, I have added some requested accessibility features to the settings menu. Accessibility FeaturesReduce Flashing: Reduces light flashes within the game. This includes muzzle flashes when shooting, bullet impacts and crafting items.Reduce Post-Processing: Reduces post-processing effects. This mostly reduces the Bloom effect that brightens lights.Brightness/Gamma: A slider from 0.5x to 1.5x that increases/decreases the global game brightness.Camera Shake: A slider from 0x to 1x that reduces the intensity of the camera shake when taking damage, shooting, combat etc. 0x will fully remove camera shaking.Idle Camera Sway: Toggles default idle camera sway.Colorblind Mode: Toggle color correction to help with cond…

- Physics Improvements & More! - 29 June 2026
The Walking Trade - Patch v1.1.8Following the low framerate slow motion fix from a few weeks ago, many have reported some additional jank with the overall physics of the game. In this update I’ve attempted to reconcile the physics between all framerates and include some highly requested quality of life regarding physics. I don’t expect the physics to be perfect, but they should hopefully feel a lot more consistent and much less frustrating across all devices. ChangesItems placed on shelves will no longer react to physics until they are removed from the shelf. This means they will always sit perfectly when placed, and cannot be knocked off by corpses, customers or other physics items. Items can still be knocked off shelves if hit by a melee attack, projectile or explosion. Note: This will not automatically apply to shelved items on older saves. You will need to re-shelve the items for th…

- Controller Support Hotfix Patch v1.1.6 - 15 June 2026
The Walking Trade - Hotfix Patch v1.1.6Thank you all for the feedback on the latest update. Controller support is always a tricky one as there are so many layers to what can go wrong, from input drivers, engine compatibility before even reaching the game itself. I believe for returning players the new update had wiped some previous keybindings (ESC key being the biggest offender for some). For this update I am going to fully wipe and reset all previous keybinding data for mouse, keyboard and controllers. This should fix the issue for everyone. Any changed keybinds will need to be redone, so apologies there!Bug FixesFixed an issue causing the keybindings menu to hide after being used the first time. ImprovementsAdded buttons for all currently connected controllers in the keybindings menu. These can be manually removed and assigned. This intends to help players diagnose why their input ma…
- Official Controller & Steam Deck Support! - 12 June 2026
The Walking Trade - Patch v1.1.5 Controller SupportThe Walking Trade now officially supports controllers! You can freely switch between mouse and keyboard or controller at any time and the game’s interface will react accordingly. We support Xbox, PlayStation, Switch controllers and Steam Deck out the gate.Aim Assist: When using a controller the game will use aim assist and some magnetism to help guide you to interactions and combat threats. By default, combat aim assist is turned on which will help aim both melee and projectile weapons based on the weapon’s range. This will only assist towards mobs that are considered a threat (zombies or customers attacking you). Interaction aim assist is disabled by default, but if you feel you are having trouble navigating small items in the world, this setting may help.Sensitivity: Global controller sensitivity and Y inversion options have been adde…

- Drop Dead Docks and Roadmap for the future! - 24 April 2026
Everyone seemed really happy with last week’s big quality of life update (aside from a few new issues I will address in the future) so I’m hoping this trend continues today. A few weeks ago Hellraids dropped to cover the ‘end-game’ system for those who love dividing and conquering hordes of brutes and rotters. Today I’m really excited to announce that two new locations on the world map have been discovered with repeatable 'end-game' shop content to unlock over 75+ new decoration items! FeaturesA brand new location on the World Map has been discovered on the coast: Drop Dead Docks. Here you can activate contracts for selling high quantities of select items in a set time frame for unique rewards, mostly decorative pieces. - Warning: Hellraids are here! - 1 April 2026
WELCOME TO HELL!One of the largest complaints of reaching the end of the city I’ve seen is that raids are no longer encountered once all the bosses are defeated. Well, I’m happy to announce that the bosses have brushed off their bruises and are back for revenge! Welcome Hellraids - endless, pre-determined raids that get increasingly difficult. On top of this, today’s update also delivers a healthy amount of fixes and other improvements. Read more in the depths below…HellraidsEndless raids are here! Once you have defeated all of the standard boss raids you will then begin to see Hellraids automatically. Hellraids are incrementally more difficult than the last and failing a Hellraid will mean you can reattempt it in the future.
