• New Meta & New Tournament! - 13 July 2026

  This patch aims to shake up the meta and bring up 3 of our stragglers (Yi Fan, Skern & Takashi) while toning down mages. It is a rather important patch since if everything feels fine, we'll be using this new meta for the next tournament! Make sure to get your practice in during Friday Night Fights. While the day isn't quite set in stone yet, you may submit your application for the tournament on discord. Cash prizes will be the same as always, 150$ for first place, 100$ for second place and 50$ for third place. There will be 8 participants in a single elimination bracket.Features All multi hit skills have been reworked. They will now check for block on every hit, but once a hit goes through, all subsequent hits will go through as well. • Announcing Friday Night Fights! - 12 June 2026

  Have you been thinking about Athelan but wished we had some players in queues? I'd like to introduce Friday Night Fights! Every Friday between 8PM and 11PM EST, everyone who'd like to play some games, learn and prepare for the next tournament can get on and queue up. This is a great opportunity for new players to learn, talk strategies on discord and master your teams.The next tournament will still have cash prizes but also special profile icons for the top 3! These icons will carry over to the full release of the game in December and no one else will be able to get them but you so make sure you hone your skills! Make sure to add it to your schedule, the first Friday Night Fights starts today at 8PM EST!

• The Puzzle Maker is finally here! - 14 April 2026

  Hey everyone! Welcome to the patch notes for demo build #82.Features The first version of the puzzle maker is finally here! With this feature you can create scenarios over a large board where you decide where everything goes. This feature is meant to learn at your own pace, get creative and dive deep into the mechanics of the game. Here is a list of features this version currently supports: Add/remove tiles, champions and hazards.Increase HP beyond the maximum or set HP to specific numbers.Set cooldowns, stacks and status effects on champions.Determine if a champion needs to be killed or not to complete the puzzle.Add flags that need to be captured to complete a level. In the future we plan to add many more things like special win conditions, traps, doors, etc so that you can even make mini D&D campaigns! • New Champion: Guardian-0 is here! - 15 March 2026

  Guardian-0 is finally here!Designed specifically for defense, this construct is a great addition to most turtle compositions allowing for both close and long range defense. Its first ability is Barrier Protocol which shields a champion up to 6 tiles away. The shield prevents all damage and lasts 3 turns. While shielded, champions can attack, but not move. This means displacements CAN interrupt the shield! The second ability is Fortification Field. Each turn, an aura around Guardian-0 expands up to a maximum of 3 tiles. All allies within this aura take reduced damage. While those abilities can be incredibly strong, enemies can attack Guardian-0 directly to temporarily disable all of its abilities. It is especially vulnerable to ignite which deals a small amount of damage each turn for a duration, keeping it turned off. It is sure to bring a new layer of complexity to the game, allowing f…

  We have some very significant balance changes this patch which should shake up the meta and bring some lesser used champions up.**Features**Made improvements to the logic of damage display. This can still be improved so we'll keep iterating.When you propose a draw and your opponent declines it, you'll now be notified in the in-game chat.Flying champions are now properly immune to the "rooted" status effect.The game now becomes a draw after 5 consecutive passed turns instead of 3.Champions that are channeling can no longer block.**Balance**Skern fell off from his glory days so we're bringing a little bit of tankiness back as well as more damage on his leap. Block chance increased from 15 -> 30%. Physical armor increased from 12 -> 15%.
