Thank you to everyone who suggested features, submitted translations, reported issues, and continued helping us improve MAZEBOUND. - Stability Update - Lower Network Load - 6 June 2026
Multiplayer Performance Improvements Reconfigured physics sync settings for world items and rigidbodies. Reduced unnecessary network updates from physics objects to help lower ping spikes and network lag. Improved how object movement is synced between host and clients. Adjusted sync behavior to make longer sessions with many spawned items more stable. Improved overall multiplayer performance in large worlds with many interactable objects. This should help make co-op sessions feel smoother and more stable, especially as the world fills with more items over time. Thank you for continuing to report issues and help us improve the game. - Sam & Abbie
- Quality of Life Update #9 - Cart Physics, Key Bindings, and Bug Fixes - 5 June 2026
Fixes and Improvements Fixed cart wheel visuals on the client side. Reworked cart item physics. Items of the same type can now stack, giving you more room in the cart. Improved cart item physics to help reduce potential lag during longer sessions. Reset all key bindings and fixed an issue where saved bindings could display correctly but not work after restarting the game. Fixed stones and sticks not respawning properly. Fixed a revive issue where players could sometimes be revived midair, die again, and get stuck in a revive/death loop. Fixed some Skarnhog roaming logic. The game now saves whether Jeff has a wheel or not. Thank you again for reporting bugs and helping us improve the game. For the lag/delay in late game, I am currently working on a final solution that is showing great results. It just needs more testing, will probably be available in the upcoming days. - Sam
- Quality of Life Update #8 - De-syncs, Performance, Version Mismatch - 3 June 2026
This update focuses on improving stability during longer sessions, fixing issues with cart teleportation, and making multiplayer connection problems clearer when players are not on the same game version. Cart Teleport Improvements Fixed an issue where objects inside the cart could fly everywhere after using cart teleport. Improved how carried cart items behave during teleportation. Reduced cases where cargo could gain sudden force or behave unpredictably after the cart changes position. Performance Improvements Improved performance during late-game sessions. Made additional optimizations aimed at reducing lag in worlds that have been played for a long time. This should help improve stability in longer saves with more spawned items and loot. Version Mismatch Protection Added protection against multiplayer version mismatches. Players on different game versions should no longer connect wit…
- Quality of Life Update #7 - Multiplayer Saves, Revive Players, Cart Fixes - 3 June 2026
One of the bigger changes in this patch is a rework to how player items are handled in multiplayer saves. Client players now keep their saved items properly, similar to the host. Multiplayer Save System Rework Reworked the save system so that client players can now have their items saved on them properly, similar to the host. Also correctly saving & loading client player's location. Addressed save-related world-state issues that could cause things like doors getting stuck open, enemies not spawning correctly, or certain systems failing to restore properly after loading. New Co-op Revive System Added the ability to revive a fallen player. (Added in preparation for Hardcore Mode) Players can now find a dead teammate’s body and hold the interact button to revive them on the spot. You get revived with low health, hunger & willpower. Cart & Cargo Improvements Improved cart items containment.…
- Quality of Life Update #6 - Respawn Timers, Old Fabric & Achievement Clarity - 1 June 2026
Changes Adjusted respawn timers: Skinweaver (Spider): 60 minutes Jeff: 40 minutes Raging Terradraco: 40 minutes Terradraco: 30 minutes Zombies in The Abyss are now guaranteed to drop at least one Old Fabric on death. Fixed a bug where killing Jeff’s mini clones could unlock the achievement for killing Jeff. Updated an achievement name and description to make it clearer for achievement hunters. Achievement Change Old: - First Record Broken - You beat Dragonbolt218’s first recorded time. New: - Dragonbolt218’s Challenge - Finish a solo run in less than 07h 54m 29s. This change was made to make it clear that you do not need to be rank one on the leaderboard to unlock the achievement. You only need to beat the listed time. Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for the feedback. -Sam
- About Jeff... - 1 June 2026
Hey everyone, Previously, Jeff clones would disappear after reloading a save to prevent soft locking. However, this was not clear enough, and it also was not a very good in-game solution. Some players were understandably frustrated by this, especially when Jeff stole multiple wheels and made a run feel unrecoverable. Jeff won't be the same after death. Changes Now when you kill Jeff, he splits into 4 mini Jeffs. Mini Jeffs have low HP, are slower, and much easier to chase down. When you kill mini Jeffs, they won't duplicate. Main Jeff now respawns after 1 hour. Main Jeff is now less likely to be killed by accident because his HP has been increased a bit. This update is meant to make Jeff more balanced. Killing Jeff still has consequences, but it no longer creates a situation that feels permanent or broken. Players can now deal with the mini Jeffs directly and recover from the chaos. Tha…

Fixed an issue where Shift-clicking an item in the inventory could cause it to disappear.
- Hotfix #3 - Connection Issues - 30 May 2026
Hey everyone, This is a small hotfix focused on multiplayer connection issues. Changes Applied a potential fix that seems to help some players who are using VPNs. Added an in-game note asking players to try disabling VPNs or Cloudflare WARP if they run into connection issues. We are still working on improving this so players can use VPNs/WARP without running into problems in the future. Big thanks to Alexsandr (Sanechek3369) & Anya (Puplelich) for helping me debug the problem.

- Quality of Life Update #4 - Ballista & Name Saves - 26 May 2026

- Quality of Life Update #3 - Cart Yeeting items - 25 May 2026
Hey everyone, I just pushed a new update with several important fixes and improvements. Patch Notes Improved cart item physics Fixed a major complaint where items inside the cart could fly everywhere because of physics (random enemy running at the cart, bump on the ground etc..). Fixed health getting stuck below 100 Fixed a bug where a player’s health could become permanently stuck below 100. - I rolled back to previous build, as some players complained of lag.
- Hotfix: Save Loading Crash Fix - 25 May 2026
Hey everyone, Sorry I’ve been quiet for the past few days. We were visiting family over the weekend, but I’ve been reading and noting down the bug reports from my phone. I know some of you ran into serious game breaking issues while I was away, especially with saves, so this was the first thing I wanted to fix now that I’m back. Fixed: - Fixed an issue where some saves could take forever to load or crash the game. - Fixed an issue where clients joining a session could crash when loading certain saved data. This hotfix focuses on the most urgent issue first because some players were at risk of losing access to their saves. There are still more bugs to fix, and I’m working through them by priority. Thank you for your patience and for reporting these issues.-Sam
- Crashes Potential Fix - 20 May 2026
- Added launch option to disable upscaling (which may prevent crashing) Big thanks to Jonthehero and Gxolot
- Quality of Life Update #2 - Justice For Jeff - 16 May 2026
Jeff - partial revert Last patch I bumped Jeff to 200 HP to stop accidental kills, but that took away what made him Jeff. Middle ground: HP back to 80 Always drops the wheel when hit while holding it (not just on headshots) New: takes no damage while holding the wheel, but vulnerable the moment he's empty-handed So now you can recover the wheel without accidentally killing him. Monster corpse decay Bumped decay timers on several monsters, more window to loot after long fights Thanks to Snowball for the flag. New launch option Added a DirectX 11 launch option for players who crash on default startup. You'll see the picker when you click Play. Thanks to hermes666 for the report.
