• Minor Update 25 Aug - 25 August 2026

  Fixed bug on gamepad / Steamdeck when naming the shop the naming window wouldn't go away. Cancelling (by pressing B) on a gamepad while the naming window is open returns the their previous position. Ending a conversation with an NPC no longer restarts the conversation.

• Steamdeck Support and Optimisations (long overdue) - 21 August 2026

  Hi all, I know this is long overdue and my silence doesn't help. I've currently got two other games in the works but now that the progress on those has been going pretty well I've been able to focus on Wasteland Shop Simulator. A big pass on controller support, some new on-screen guidance, and a pile of fixes to the shop loop.Controller controls have changedRight trigger is now your action button. Placing stock on shelves, scanning items at the register, pressing the register keypad, and confirming furniture placement all moved to RT.A is now purely pick up / put down / talk. Previously A was doing both jobs at once, which meant placing a product on a shelf would also drop the crate you were carrying. B still returns a product to the crate.Keyboard and mouse are unchanged.New: you can see what you're doingShelf placement preview. When you're carrying a crate, a ghost of the product now…

• Gamepad is now fully supported. Steamdeck support coming in May - 10 April 2026

  Hey Wastelanders! New update is live with some improvements and a look at what's coming next. Gamepad Visuals Complete - Following on from the last update, on-screen button prompts and UI elements now properly reflect gamepad inputs. Gamepad support should feel fully polished now. Performance Improvements - Some level optimisation work has been done behind the scenes to improve frame rates. Things should feel a bit smoother overall. What's Coming in May? Steam Deck support is in the works and aiming for a May release. Alongside that, a content update is coming that includes new mounts, additional settlements, and new areas to explore beyond the main village. Excited about this one and can't wait to show you more. • Updates: Gamepad support and updated demo - 9 April 2026

  Hey Wastelanders! We've got a fresh update with some nice improvements and a bit of news. Numpad Support for Cash Register - You can now use your keyboard's numpad to punch in amounts at the cash register. No more clicking each number individually if you don't want to. Full Gamepad Support - The game is now fully playable with a gamepad. All controls work, but we're still in the process of updating the on-screen visuals and options menus to reflect gamepad inputs. That polish is coming in a future update. Updated Demo Available - We've refreshed the game demo with the latest changes, so if you've got friends on the fence, now's a great time to point them to it. Thanks for sticking with us. • Bug fixes 08 April 2026 - 8 April 2026

  Hi all, Another patch is here to knock out a few more bugs. Thanks for flagging these, let's get into it. Blank Checkout Screen - Fixed an issue where swiping a customer's order at the checkout desk would leave the payment screen completely blank, making it impossible to take payment. Transactions should now go through smoothly. NPC Stuck Behind Register - Some customers were getting a little too comfortable and walking behind the cash register, then refusing to move. They've been reminded which side of the counter they belong on. Unresponsive Controls - Some players were experiencing a general inability to perform basic controls and commands throughout the game. This should now be resolved and everything should feel responsive again. As always, thanks for the reports and your patience while we iron things out. Keep them coming and we'll keep fixing.   This is a minor patch to fix the following issues: Fixed shop object placement. Map barrier actually stops the player from falling off the map.

• Bug Fixes - 02/04/2026 - 2 April 2026

  We've just pushed a small patch to squash some bugs that were making life in the wasteland a little too weird.Here's what we fixed:Hire Screen Soft Lock - Fixed an issue where using the computer to hire an employee would trap you on the screen with no way to exit. You're now free to leave and actually hire someone too.Floating Buildings - Some buildings decided gravity was optional and were hovering above the ground. We've had a word with them. They're back where they belong.Floating NPCs - Turns out the locals were also defying physics. NPCs should now be firmly planted on solid ground instead of levitating around your shop like wasteland ghosts.Thanks for the reports and your patience. • Regular update: New Settings Menu, Bug Fixes, Performances Fixes - 26 October 2025

  This is a regular update which fixes issues reported by those testing out the demo. This week's update contains the following updates:A new settings menu has been added to the game (this will be extended further in coming updates)The camel mount no longer sometimes slides around when the player rides it.When hiring staff, the player can no longer go into negative caps.After packing shelves, sometimes the player couldn't throw the box away, this should now be fixed.Some players experienced bad stutters while playing, this has vastly been improved through optimised scripts related to NPCs.The first quest couldn't be completed because the player could not pick up the bag of caps.More NPC quests are available through NPCs that appear at certain places at certain times.More NPCs are in the village so it's slightly busier.Additional creatures have been placed in the wasteland so watch your ba…

• Demo Update: Bug Fixes, Quality of Life Improvements and what's coming next - 17 October 2025

  Hi all,The initial demo build was quite rough around the edges and buggy. Thanks to all of you who sent feedback. The demo will continually be improved until full game release.This update contains the following:Mouse sensitivity is improved.Day / Night cycles sync correctly with time.Players can explore the wasteland pretty much right away, speak to the guard at the gate.Intro tutorial is much more clear.Quest system is overhauled. Quests are tracked with a Journal.Completely overhauled the dialogue system with NPCs. Dialogues now have branching conversations.
