If you latch onto certain targets, you will be able to hang from them. If it's on the ceiling, you'll also be able to move up and down!Compatible targets include:New objects: Grapple Target, Grapple Pillar, and Hanging SwitchTreasure ChestsIron BarsTorchesTorch SwitchesLaddersSpeaking of new objectsLet's take a closer look at some of them.Grapple TargetThis is a simple latch point for the Grapple. - Balancing the Imperator + Additional Fixes - Version 0.2.2 - 31 August 2026
Hello Temple Makers! I present a first update aimed at balancing the gameplay around the Imperator enemy. Allow me to present the changes I made to its behaviour:Summary of the changesThe shield is now effective against the Imperator's attacks. This change is a counter-measure to the fact that the Imperator's attacks proved too punishing for the average player. If the Imperator blocks your own strikes, though, it will still retaliate very quickly.Imperators now try to block each other's attacks (with varying degrees of success). This makes it easier adding two of them in the same room without them killing each other, while still punishing Builders for adding dozens of them.Imperators are more mobile when engaging you in combat: they will strafe around you.Additionally to these changes, I also took the opportunity to deal with a few remaining bugs. Please take a look at the full changelo…

- The Combat Update - Version 0.2.0 - 27 August 2026
Hello dear Temple Makers, allow me to present the biggest update to date!Check out some of the new features in this update:Introducing the ImperatorThe Imperator is a reptilian creature with a two-handed longsword that will attack you on sight. It moves fast, so escaping it is difficult. Unless you time it right, it will parry most of your attacks and retaliate immediately. Given the range of its weapon, backflipping to evade it is challenging. In Build mode, you will have two settings for this enemy. If you select Wander Around, the Imperator will wander around its position. If you select Stick to Path, the Imperator will follow the patrol route you have given it. If you haven't given it a patrol route, it will keep still and stand guard instead. You may notice from the above video that I am also incorporating combat elements from the GameCube era, for example the ability to knock enemies…

- Better-looking, faster-loading Temples - 0.0.16 update - 10 June 2026
In this new update, major changes were made in the way temples are shaded. It might not seem like much, but it should in fact optimise very large temples and get rid of the remaining lag spikes you may encounter. Here's a breakdown.Introducing a shiny, brand new AO algorithmWhat's AO, anywayAO stands for Ambient Occlusion, and it corresponds to the darker shading that you can see along the corners of the rooms. In the N64 days, this shading was achieved by colouring the models beforehand. But in the case of Temple Maker 64, it has to be done procedurally. In the previous version of the game, I used a highly convoluted approach to generate AO which was laggy, and created a lot of flickering (called Z-fighting) and other shading issues. Here is an example of what I'm talking about:The new approachI'll spare you the technical details, but for this update I took a completely different approa…

- Version 0.1.13 Patches and Fixes - 1 June 2026
Corrupted saves, begoneThere was an issue where, under certain circumstances, the Temple Editor would crash and the save file would become corrupted. To prevent this from happening, I have set in place additional safety measures to preserve your save file: now, the file will go through a validation process before overwriting your current save, and editor crashes will reload the good save file.Keeping builders of huge Temples happyIf you attempted to build a huge Temple with many objects, you may have noticed lag spikes. In this new version, I have heavily optimised the way temples are built, mitigating those lag spikes. You can now go back to building your long Temples!Full ChangelogOptimisation of lag spikes when editing large dungeonsStabilised autosaving and added security measures to prevent creating corrupted savesAdded a graceful crash handler for reloading the last valid save if a…
