- OLED Guard Pro v5.9 - 16 September 2026
OLED Guard Pro v5.9: fullscreen freeze fix, display recovery, honest StatisticsA fix-everything release built from your reports and live testing under load. Fullscreen and captureBrowsers no longer freeze on fullscreen. Chrome could lock up entering or leaving fullscreen while OLED Guard held a Desktop Duplication session on that display. Capture now steps aside for every fullscreen transition and re-attaches moments later.Displays recover without a restart. Display sleep, driver restarts, docking, and monitor renumbering are handled live. A display with no capture shows a warning instead of counting as protected.Mirrored displays are listed correctly. Windows duplicate mode shows one group with every panel's name. HDMI no longer shows as DVI. Away ModeApp-window, focused-window, and mouse-tracking exclusions no longer cut holes in the Away overlay.Monitors you disabled are no longer di…
- OLED Guard 5.8 — Smarter Protection, Clearer Controls - 2 September 2026
OLED Guard 5.8 is now available! This update makes protection smarter, more responsive, and easier to understand—especially during gaming. What’s new: - Responsiveness now meaningfully controls buildup speed. Relaxed waits for long-static content, Balanced uses natural timing, and Responsive protects fastest. All modes still release quickly when content changes. ːsteamthisː ːsteamhappyː - Game IQ better preserves genuine HUD protection while clearing stale overlays when menus, messages, or HUD elements disappear. ːsteamthisː ːsteammockingː - Away Mode can reduce supported monitors to 20% hardware brightness through DDC/CI, then restore the exact previous brightness when you return. It will never increase an already dimmer display.ːsteamthisː ːsteamhappyː - Autopilot now explains which Responsiveness tier it selected and why. ːsteammockingː - Presets have safer migration and more reliabl…

- OLED Guard Pro 5.5: Protection That Never Forgets - 26 August 2026
OLED Guard Pro 5.5: the reliability release Your OLED took months to earn its burn-in protection history. 5.5 makes sure nothing throws it away. For this update we went hunting for the problems you could feel but never name: the overlay that quietly started over after your screen sat idle, the buildup that vanished after a scroll, the dimming that reset when you switched presets. We root-caused every one of them from live logs, built a regression harness to pin them down for good, and worked through every single report on our feedback board. Protection that never forgetsIdle screens no longer reset protection. A perfectly still screen used to be mistaken for a capture failure and could silently wipe hours of protection history. Not anymore.Scrolling bright pages keeps your history. Reading and scrolling no longer erode accumulated protection on white content.Preset, Autopilot, and profi…
- OLED Guard Pro v5: Game IQ + a New Protection Engine - 9 July 2026
The biggest protection release since v4 rebuilds how OLED Guard draws protection on your screen. Two headline changes: Game IQ learns the HUDs in your games, and a new continuous protection engine makes dimming smoother, faster, and cleaner. Game IQ learns your game HUDsHealth bars, minimaps, ammo counts and scoreboards are the brightest, most static things on your screen, and they are exactly what burns in. In fullscreen Gaming sessions, Game IQ learns where each game keeps its HUD, locally on your PC, and brings protection back to those regions faster the next time they appear. You are covered again the moment the HUD returns after a goal, a menu, or a respawn. Learns per game, on-device. Nothing about what you play ever leaves your machine.Only in fullscreen Gaming. Your desktop, media and menus never pick up a game-HUD floor by mistake.A one-way safety floor. Game IQ can only add pr…
- v4.9.3 - Overlay fix on media preset - 21 June 2026
Fixed: overlay too aggressive on media (regression from v4.9) The v4.9 segment-fill was injecting a fixed, brightness-driven intensity: any bright + roughly-static region instantly snapped to a near-full overlay sheet, bypassing the slow accumulation that media is supposed to get. Reworked so segmentation decides where and accumulated risk decides how strong: Segments are now detected by content coherence (uniform regions, any brightness) instead of brightness. Fill level is the region's mean accumulated risk - dynamic, not a fixed value, so it tracks real protection need. Moving content self-suppresses (risk is already motion-gated), so video no longer reads as instant panels. Net effect: overlay on media stays quiet and ramps gradually like it should to detect static logos, banners, etc on videos, while still flattening genuine static regions evenly (no patchiness).
- v4.9 - uniform overlay fill + a clearer dashboard - 20 June 2026
A focused follow-up to 4.8: bright static screens get a cleaner, more even dim, the dashboard explains itself in plain language, and the overlay now covers every pixel of the screen width.Even protection on bright static screens - large bright pages and documents now dim as one smooth, uniform sheet instead of a patchy, blotchy overlay. The change is display-only; the underlying burn-in tracking is unchanged. The dashboard explains itself in plain language - the classifier's reasoning now shows as simple tags like Media, Idle, Fullscreen, Video, or Controller, instead of a dense technical line.Full-width overlay coverage - the thin uncovered line at the screen edge is gone; the overlay now covers the entire width while still avoiding Windows' fullscreen mode, so Focus Assist and the taskbar behave normally.
- 4.8 - now in 10 languages + smarter, stickier protection - 19 June 2026
OLED Guard Pro 4.8 Our biggest update since 4.5: the whole app now speaks your language, your settings stay exactly where you put them, and the protection engine got noticeably smarter. 🌍 Now in 10 languages The entire interface is localized into English, German, Russian, Spanish, Polish, Turkish, Portuguese, and Japanese, plus full right-to-left layouts for Arabic and Persian. Pick a language in Settings, or let it follow Windows automatically. 🖥️ Your display choices finally stick Turning protection off for a second monitor now survives restarts. Set it once and forget it. 🎯 Presets stop fighting your choices A new Auto control lets you pin "Ignore active window" and "Mouse track" so Auto Mode's preset switching can no longer override them. ⚡ Faster, more even protection Static areas left behind by a moving window or HUD now fill in and get protected much sooner, and Away mode dims…
- OLED Guard v4.5 - Smarter Protection, Smoother Experience - 10 June 2026
This is our biggest update since v4.3, and it's all about one thing: protection that just works, quietly, no matter what you're doing on your screen. Whether you're deep in a game, binging a show, or alt-tabbing between both, v4.5 understands what's happening and responds the right way - every time. It finally knows the difference between gaming and watchingThe detection engine got a major brain upgrade. Fullscreen video is now recognized as video - even without a media player reporting it - and your games will never be mistaken for "media" again. Pick up a controller and the app instantly knows you're playing. Sit back to watch, and it adapts. No more wrong modes, no more guessing. Alt-tab without losing your protectionPreviously, switching windows could reset the protection the app had carefully built up. Not anymore. v4.5 checks whether your screen content actually changed before sta…
