- REDEVELOPMENT LOG PART 3: Brain Food - 4 July 2026
Greetings, Whitaker Metapham. I'm copyrighting that, don't steal it, please. That's mine now./R continues redevelopment unabated - even while on the Summer Sale. For anyone reading right now, any updates I am talking out will be free when 2.0 patch inevitably launches. I am aiming for the last week of October to have the game rebuilt for 2.0/IDE Upgrade. Don't hold your breath though. I am one person. However, some new milestones to celebrate.Puzzles will now have better UI and feedback (as well as improved control) to make them more enjoyable and less clunky. You'll also receive system alerts when a puzzle is solved correctly. Some other new puzzle types are being added to deepen gameplay. We're not gonna make you do rocket science, but your brain will get some exercise as well as Lydia's feet. One of those new types are more locked containers. I want players to feel they earn things and…
- RE-DEVELOPMENT LOG: PART 2 - 13 June 2026
Howdy, Whitaker Meta-fam.Still hard at work at rebuilding the game here and there are some things to celebrate. While there is still a ways to go, here's what has been updated:IMPROVED HUD AND IN-GAME MENU: Let's face it. The old in-game menu sucked and the HUD didn't say much. Here is what we changed. There are now system alerts on the top left that will tell you if you are exhausted, have escaped, are safe, and more. This can also be disabled in Options now.The in-game Menu now doesn't conflict with player input: a frequent problem in the original build. You can now Exit to Desktop from the in-game menu. You will also see messages notifying that the game saves are successful.Item pickup messages are now a larger font and will also display stat changes with the top-left alerts. This should make information clearer for players.NEW AND IMPROVED OPTIONS: The Options menu is cleaner now and h…
- RE-DEVELOPMENT LOG : Part 1 - 16 May 2026
Howdy, Whitaker Meta-fam. You might recall that this title recently went into Maintenance Mode, or you're a sane person who is not a sadist and would rather enjoy the games they play.Turns out, the engine I used upgraded partway through development and I was also a VERY green developer when I started it, so I have been rebuilding the codebase from the ground up. I got pretty tired of things breaking every patch.Basically, I am also going to take this time to make the game more fun. But I'll try to post these updates periodically so those who do care can see the effort being put in.Here is what has been done so far.The first change? The lead. Her face and eyes are more defined now and her animations have been cleaned up. Also she has brown eyes now, because they just look better against the red and purple motifs of the game. In addition, there is now a visual indicator when you are in a…
- Patch 1.5 - Game in Maintenance Mode until 2.0 - 17 April 2026
Howdy folks. The last patch broke a lot that I fixed. Tee-hee. Options button also now works in the Pause menu.Full disclosure - I was a rookie developer when I started making this game myself in 2023. The game engine I used has released a whole new version (halfway through my three years of solo development) since then and I have made many other smaller projects that aren't nearly as broken as this one. In addition, it is reaching a point where my updates are band-aids to bad programming rather than true fixes. Also, GodotSteam, my API wrapper, is no longer officially supported for Godot 3.Therefore, the game will be receiving this last update before it goes into "maintenance mode." This will involve me moving the whole codebase and assets over to Godot 4, which will take time. But by then, this game will be more playable.... plus some new things.Cheers,xoxoxo.negDev

We may have some rather large updates coming soon.As always, use the official bug report thread for all issues or email us at [email protected],negDev
- PATCHES HAS PATCHES ARGH - 22 November 2025
Howdy, Whitaker Metaphysical fam.I know it's been some time, but this update is a big one. Just did a big massacre of bugs and also solved some outstanding issues. Here;s a list of what's been fixed. The red coloration glitch effect during chase scenes has been removed. It was causing a major performance drain and players should notice an uptick in speed. The CRT Filter and the fluxing effect is still there and can still be adjusted in Options (the gear icon). The menu no longer can open while hiding. The Archives menu no longer opens outside of the Pause screen. Several players have noted this bug.Frame rate descriptions in the Options menu are now fixed.Enter Prompts on some doors were stopping when animated. - Patch 1.2.2 - Performance Boost - 24 August 2025
Howdy, Whitaker Metaphysical patients. The latest update is small and while you may not notice anything at first, we have made some changes on the backend in the hopes of boosting performance as some players have noted a performance drop on some lower-end systems. One huge change:You can now adjust the speed of the chase filer on the options menu. Feel free to adjust this and you will likely see a performance increase.Other code and randomization elements have been tweaked on the backend to allow for better load handling by the game engine overall. If you have not seen any performance problems while playing, you will likely not notice much difference. If you experience any new performance issues, be sure to check in on our Community Hub and report the bug, even if its already listed.Thank you all for being here. Sorry for the wait on this update. Ah, the perils of one-person development.X…
- Audio Updates and Improved Audio UI - 27 July 2025
Howdy, Whitaker Metaphysical family. This latest patch fixes some longstanding audio issues and improves audio functionality and stability. While these changes are small, they are substantial to sound quality overall.Audio buses have been re-arranged for better spacing in audio and sound objects should now reflect these value better.Ambient sound effects (like the air conditioner drone) are now separately processed from short sound effects (like light switch flicking). This was leading to audio distortion issues that have been resolved.Reverb has been turned down on ambient sound effects for better performance. The music volume of exploration and chase scenes should now be more consistent. On the Options Screen, volume levels are now portrayed as 0 to 100 versus the old decibel method. This confused most players and was not very intuitive in portraying volumes in a way most could understa…
- VERSION 1.2 - Archives Mode, A Fighting Chance, UI Updates and more! - 25 July 2025
Howdy, Whitaker Metaphysical family. A massive new update has been released. It includes the following new features:ARCHIVES MODE NOW AVAILABLEDue to this being a story game, I began to realize that having to sit through the same story elements when trying multiple attempts is probably boring. In addition to some UI updates to make getting through repetition faster (most cutscenes are escapable or can be breezed through), we have added the ability to view Lore without having to go all the way back to it. You know, like, every other horror game ever. I promise I'm a professional. This mode can be accessed from the main menu and the pause screen. Most lore you find, watch or listen can now be recalled across multiple playthroughs. This means if you hit a permadeath, you can still see lore you have achieved to that point even on a new run.Lore is unlocked when it is read. You do not have to…

- Patch 1.1 - Maps, Difficulty and Videotapes : THE MERCY PATCH - 27 April 2025
Howdy, Whitaker Metaphysical test sub.... er.... I mean fans. /R has been a massive undertaking for me in the last three years. I learned a lot about programming and game design as I made the game, so as I progressed, some ideas I had become obsolete and some evolved. And during some livestreams recently, we realized that there are some things we can do to the game to make it more enjoyable for players. We want this game to be challenging, not vexing and certainly not impossible. Here is a host of new features for you. MAP SYSTEM - We have now added a Map with current player location and points of interest to the HUD. You can access this with M on your keyboard (Back/Share/Select on supported controllers) and it manages to hide spoilers too. This has been long requested by players - and now you have it.
