- v0.5.0 - The Second Act Update - 14 August 2026
This update targets the long career. Previously the game stopped developing after roughly twenty days: nothing carried between shifts, the upgrade tree ran dry, and a promotion made the game smaller. All three are addressed. New: Open Cases. Unfinished business now returns. A promised callback rings again. A dispatched technician may not have fixed it. A Tier 2 escalation can bounce back. A caller who hung up on an unsolved fault comes back angrier. Each case is bound to the same customer and the same problem, and their mood worsens for every day you leave it unresolved. Open cases are listed in TickIt before they ring so you can prepare, and you can close one early by calling out on LINE 2. Closing cases on time raises your weekly review; leaving them open lowers it. New: Certifications. Four training tracks - Technical, Retention, Compliance, Sales - with three tiers each, from $200 t…
- v0.4.0 Update - 30 July 2026
French is fully live — voice acting is no longer marked "Coming Soon" in the Voice Audio dropdown, and subtitle coverage is complete. New: Hard Mode — AV Subscription. A second Hard Mode toggle at career creation. Skip the weekly antivirus bill and scam-style popup ads start showing up, getting more frequent the longer you're behind — including a rigged variant where you have to find the real close button among decoys. Nuisance only, no extra cost beyond the subscription; pay it off and they stop. New: Quick Dial. SoftPhone LINE 2 now has three always-on numbers — order from Life of Pie or Curry In A Hurry for stress relief, or call the Nimbus IT Helpdesk for a bounty. Once per business per day, with an occasional bonus lead for your Lead Market book. New: Pin board. The cubicle sticky notes now open a full cork board with newspaper clippings and hints alongside the originals, now fully…
- v0.3.3 Update - 27 July 2026
Verification fixes — "use a different verification factor" was a soft lock (skipping a factor just re-offered the same one); it now correctly counts toward the 3-strike lockout so you're never stuck. Callers with no account number were penalized more mood for the same verification work as callers who had one — that's balanced now. Correcting a caller's wrong account number credits it immediately instead of making you ask twice. Call flow fixes — the upsell offer no longer pitches a customer the plan they're already on. EXPLAIN and PROPOSE FIX now give genuinely different caller responses. Issuing a refund (or any CRM action) no longer repeats the full explanation if you already used EXPLAIN. Plan-change/renewal calls now have voice audio instead of dead silence. Cold-calling — repeat-dialing the same customer for easy renewal/grift income on Line 2 is now limited to once per customer pe…
- v0.3.2 Update - 23 July 2026
v0.3.2 Update Multiplayer: 3 game modes — Shift Race (competitive), Co-Op (new) (team-averaged score, free call routing, no sabotage), and Free For All (new) (mix every rule yourself). Hosting now starts with a proper mode-select screen instead of a pile of checkboxes. More manual, hands-on service — verify and update a mover's address before booking their technician visit; pick the correct equipment SKU for a customer's plan before shipping routers/SIMs/TV boxes; cold-call sales and new installs create real, persistent customers you can find again in CustomerDeck; upsells are a real plan-tier picker that actually changes the customer's bill; and a new call type for customers who just want to change or renew their own plan. Independent language settings — Interface, Subtitles, and Voice Audio are now three separate settings, each with all supported languages. Subtitles are genuinely tra…
- v0.3.1 — Real Diagnostics, Part 2 - 17 July 2026
Following up on the diagnostic system players have been enjoying on internet outages and slow speeds, it's now live on four more call types: • Mobile: no signal — could be a worn SIM, tower congestion in the area, or a fault in the handset itself. Each has a different fix, and only one of them involves mailing out a new SIM. • TV box frozen — a plain reset only fixes some of these. Diagnose it first: is it hung, stuck mid-update, or just dead hardware? • Data cap hit — sometimes it's a real cap. Sometimes the usage meter's out of sync, or there's a stuck throttle flag left over from a prior billing cycle. Only one of those means "sorry, nothing I can do." • Roaming charge shock — legitimate charges, a carrier-side billing error, or a roaming pack that lapsed mid-trip all look the same on the surface. They're not. As always: skipping the diagnostic step doesn't lock you out of resolving…
- v0.3.0 - 15 July 2026
New player experience • Added onboarding hints for what's ahead: the training screen now points new players toward Night Shift (an endless mode with no career grind, if you want faster variety) and the Trophies app (which now doubles as a "what's still locked" preview), plus a heads-up that the first week is just the on-ramp — rival drama, a supervisor storyline, and stranger stuff after dark all kick in the longer you stay. • VIP DAY (one of our special "wildcard" shift days) can now show up as early as day 6 instead of day 8, so more players get a taste of it sooner. Multiplayer • Clarified the store listing: Shift Race is a competitive mode, not a co-op one. If you're going in expecting to team up, you'll actually be racing (and sabotaging) your friends — Dirty Tricks and all. Fixes carried in from prior hotfixes • Cold-calling a customer who'd just called in no longer gives them a d…
- v0.2.8 — Hotfix - 15 July 2026
• Fixed cold-calling a customer who just called in giving them a different voice than the one you just heard. Voices are now tied to the customer, not re-rolled each call — the same person always sounds like themselves, whether they call you or you call them. • Silenced dialogue audit: found and fixed 37 lines of caller/agent dialogue that were spoken in-game but had no recording behind them (subtitle-only). These are now wired into the voice pipeline and ready for generation — includes reactions to being pushed back on, verification impatience, callback confirmations, the misdial/blackmail arc, and more. • Minor: the "last payment" verification answer now plays its filler audio line instead of staying silent. No gameplay changes — this is a fix-only release.
- v0.2.7 — Moving House Update - 14 July 2026
Verifying customers who've moved • You can now help a customer who has moved house. Previously, if someone couldn't confirm the address on file, the call dead-ended and you were forced to hang up. • When a caller has moved and can't confirm their old address, you can now verify them with their date of birth or last payment instead, then confirm identity as normal. • Once they're verified, a new "UPDATE ADDRESS" action records their new address on the account — and it sticks: reopen the record later (or reload your save) and the new address is there. • Moving-house calls now consistently walk this path, and the KB article for service transfers explains how to handle it. New achievement • "New Digs" — verify a customer who's moved and update their address on file. Fraud detection is unchanged — impostors still can't talk their way past the address check. Thanks to Goose for the review tha…
- v0.2.6 — Hotfix - 5 July 2026
App conflicts (Razer, RGB & overlay software) • Fixed the game freezing / dropping to the background / not responding to hover when apps like Razer Central, Corsair iCUE, Logitech G HUB, or MSI Afterburner were running. You no longer need to close those apps to play. Verification • Fixed being unable to complete security on callers without an account number — callers who told you their name up front were hiding the "verify name" option. You can now always verify the name on the account until it's confirmed. • Clearer verification buttons: VERIFY · ACCOUNT # for account holders, and VERIFY · NAME / VERIFY · DOB / VERIFY · LAST PAYMENT for callers without an account number.
- v0.2.5 — Hotfix - 4 July 2026
• Fixed a verification bug where callers who told you their name up front would hide the "verify name" option — making it impossible to complete security on customers who don't have an account number. You can now always verify the name on the account until it's confirmed. • Clearer verification buttons: VERIFY · ACCOUNT # for account holders, and VERIFY · NAME / VERIFY · DOB / VERIFY · LAST PAYMENT for callers without an account number. Shoutout to gavinhall2009 for reporting this issue.
- v0.2.4 — Hotfix - 4 July 2026
• Fixed the game losing focus and dropping to the background on Windows — on launch, and every time you loaded a save. It was caused by the window re-asserting fullscreen mode when it was already fullscreen, which Windows would punish by shoving the game behind other apps (Steam, browser, etc.). The game now only changes display mode when it actually needs to, and re-focuses itself afterward. Thanks to everyone who reported it.
- Update Notes - v0.2.3 - 4 July 2026
NEW — STEAM CLOUD SAVES • Saves now sync to Steam Cloud automatically, and are still kept locally too. Your progress survives a reinstall and follows your account to any PC. A "Steam Cloud on" indicator shows on the New Game / Load Game screens. NEW — PUSH BACK • Some callers have it coming. Drop the customer-service voice and give them a piece of your mind, in three escalating tiers — from a dry jab to a full unprofessional meltdown. It bleeds off your own stress like nothing else... and torpedoes the call, invites a complaint, and — if a supervisor is within earshot — a written warning. Cathartic. Rarely wise. GAMEPLAY — VERIFYING IDENTITY • Verification is now one deliberate step. Gather your security factors on the line (account number, date of birth, last payment, or a security check), THEN open the caller's record in CustomerDeck and hit "Confirm Identity." Asking the questions no…
- v0.2.2 — Hotfix - 4 July 2026
BUG FIXES • Social engineering calls are winnable again. These callers now properly impersonate a real account holder, and once their story falls apart you get a clear in-call FLAG AS FRAUD option — no more endless "give me your account number" loops with no way out. Hanging up on one is also no longer counted against you. • Pause actually pauses. Opening the pause menu mid-call no longer lets the caller keep talking behind it. • Dropdown menus (ticket categories, settings) now open correctly on Steam Deck / Proton / Linux. • Fixed a KB article opened for one caller sticking around and offering an irrelevant "fix" on later, unrelated calls. QUALITY OF LIFE • New REVIEW ACCOUNT call option — tell the caller "bear with me a moment" and they'll wait patiently (~45s) while you look them up in CustomerDeck. No hold music, no penalty, no "don't ghost me." For when you actually need to read th…
- v0.2.1 — The Office Politics Update - 3 July 2026
NEW MECHANICS • Office morale — a floor-wide mood meter. Feed Gerald, water Fernando Jr., fix the printer, and cover a coworker's favor to keep it up; let it slip and every caller starts a little more annoyed. Runs high enough and the floor pays you back at random (free sips, a Rajeev high-five, a vending freebie). • Coworker reputation — Marcus, Denise, and Sofia now remember what you've done for them. High enough rep gets your queue quietly covered, your plant looked after while you're out, and a lookout when Chad tries to poach your calls. • Call triage — a ringing line is now a decision. Answer it, transfer it to a coworker who owes you one, or bounce it straight to Tier 2. • Callers who remember — loyalty and grudges now carry across calls. The man who hears clicking keeps score of exactly how you've treated him. • Chad from Pod 4: the saga continues — a day-15 double-or-nothing SH…
